Vic Smith Named Western Growers Chairman

IRVINE, CA - On Monday, the Western Growers Board of Directors named Vic Smith, President and CEO of JV Smith Companies, as the Chairman of Western Growers.

According to Western Growers, Smith succeeds Bruce Taylor, Chairman and CEO of Taylor Farms California.  Smith will begin his volunteer leadership responsibilities at the end of this week’s annual meeting.

And the winner is...

Mike Ivers (left), Yuma Community Food Bank's president and CEO, and Terre Catanzaro, of JV Smith Companies, look over final numbers after it was announced Tuesday morning that JV Smith Companies had won the Corporate Cup Food Drive. JV Smith Companies won the competition by donating an average of 507.33 pounds of food per employee. The company donated a total of 86,753 pounds of food. The City of Yuma finished second wtih an aveage of 14.35 pounds of food per employee, Yuma County was third with 3.65 and Yuma Regional Medical Center was fourth with 2.68. The four competitors donated a total of 109,183 pounds of food.
