JV Smith employees have donated $63K to food bank

Five bucks a week can add up, as the employees of JV Smith Companies recently found out.

In 2011, they decided to organize and collect monetary donations annually for the Yuma Community Food Bank.

Since then, the employees have donated more than $63,384 in support of the continued fight against hunger in Yuma County.

“Five dollars or $40 a week – whatever you can spare – adds up and can really help people. I think I have proven my theory,” said Terre Catanzaro, chief administrative officer at JV Smith.

Indeed, each dollar donated provides nine meals for a family that is struggling to provide proper nutrition each day, according to the food bank.
