Fresh Innovations

Fresh Innovations was established in 2001 as the marketing arm for the products from El Toro. Helmed by Kyle Smith, Fresh Innovations sells over 4 million cartons of conventional and organic produce such as green onions (our biggest commodity), brussel sprouts, leeks, and kale.

Kyle Smith is the son of Victor Smith and the third generation of JV Smith Companies. He has been working with the companies since 2004. He started as a night-time dispatcher and worked his way up to a shipping supervisor for El Toro to VP of Sales and now the head of Fresh Innovations. He sat on the Southwestern Port Users Association Board from 2006 to 2014 during the building of the new port in San Luis, successfully advocating for the institution of the fast lane for commercial trucks to expedite the crossing process.
